Portrait of a Garden

Join photographer Marte Marie Forsberg at the glorious Ham Court, home of Matthew Rice in Oxfordshire for a day of photography and story telling. During our day we will be working on telling the tale of a garden, capturing the essence of place, time and personality and gathering our images in a compelling story the 'Portrait of a Garden'. We will be focusing on light, composition, visual storytelling and editing all in the beautiful setting of Ham Court.

Marte Marie Forsberg is a renowned author and photographer, living in a cottage in the English countryside. With clients around the world, she is known for creating compelling visual stories for people, places, products, and brands. Her work has been featured in magazines, newspapers and books around the world but it is here in the English countryside she finds her inspiration, a place she's ever so grateful to call home.

This workshop day is for beginners to professionals alike, and will aim at teaching you how to tell compelling visual stories with a strong sense of place.

Whether you just want to tell the story of your own garden, or if you are a photographer and want to learn how to work with light, composition, visual storytelling and editing, or if you just want to be visually inspired and bring your smart phone, this course will be the perfect workshop to do just that.

Marie will share how she captures a story with her camera, guide you through the process of editing down the images to form a strong visual story, and then show you how she add's her final retouching touches to create a final product that draws the viewer in. Marie uses Lightroom Classic, and you can either bring your laptop, or use your smart phone with the Lightroom App, or any other editing platform you feel comfortable with and know well. 

Every participant will be given a disposable camera to work with (in addition to bringing your own camera) and all images will be developed and sent out to you after the workshop, so you will have a tangible story of the day too.

Morning tea, a delicious organic lunch and all refreshments are included.

This course is suitable for all levels with no experience necessary.
